HISTORY
The Ministry began as New Testament Church of God in 1951 by the late Bishop Alfred F. & Mother Leona Williams. Since the death of Bishop Williams in 1956, the church had four Pastors, before Dr. Martha Starks was installed as the Interim Pastor in June 1978. After serving almost one year, she was permanently installed as Senior Pastor in March 1979. In 1985, the Church was incorporated as New Testament Word of Faith.
Under the leadership of Dr. Starks, the ministry has grown and changed tremendously offering a variety of resources to enhance the growth of not only the adults of the congregation, but also the children. Early in 2007, the Lord led Pastor Starks to focus more on building up the family, as well as evangelizing the lost. In January 2008, the ministry became Word of Life Family Worship Center.
After serving 44 years in Ministry, Sunday, April 30, 2023, Dr. Starks retired as Senior Pastor and Elder Virginia P. Brown was installed as Senior Pastor of Word of Life.
Word of Life Family Worship Center is a Non-Denominational church, where every believer makes up the Family of God and everyone is welcome.
